Happy Birthday René-Théophile-Hyacinthe Laennec, who invented the stethoscope in 1816! I've been to two notable medical history museums in France - one in Paris, the Musée de l'Histoire de la Medecine at the Université René Descartes, and one in Rouen, at the Musée Flaubert, former home of the author Gustave Flaubert. This photo is from the latter.
